    TWO ANGLO-INDIAN SANDALWOOD AND IVORY CASKETS
    VIZAGAPATAM, INDIA, LATE 18TH CENTURY
    Comprising a sewing box and a glove box, the first on four lion's paw feet with raised lid decorated with a plain central oval foliate medallion, the borders and sides with a repeating foliate pattern, the hinged lid opening to reveal open and lidded compartments and a pin locking a secret drawer, with handles fashioned as a lion holding a ring in its jaw, the base with a label reading T. Webb, Watchmakers, Jewelers and C..., 5 Mornington Terrace, Wanstead; the glove box, on plain base, ornate in the same fashion with a repeating design of scrolling tendrils, the lid with a steel ring
