TWO CYPRIOT BICHROME WARE AND TWO WHITE PAINTED WARE AMPHORAE
CYPRO-GEOMETRIC CYPRO-ARCHAIC, 1050-600 B.C.
A large amphora with red and dark brown strokes on the rim, red bands and brown lines encircling the neck and body, with four friezes of brown concentric circles, neck repaired, 22 in. (56 cm.) high; another, smaller, with red and brown encircling bands, two wavy brown lines around the middle, 14.7/8 in. (37.7 cm.) high; an amphora with brown zigzags around the rim, frieze of cross-hatched diamonds on the neck, 'winged' chequerboard triangles between lines and 'winged' vertical lines on the shoulder, the body with large hatched chequerboard diamonds between vertical lines, encircling bands above and below, neck chipped and repaired, 19 in. (50.2 cm.) high; and another with similar decoration, one handle missing, 14 in. (37.5 cm.) high, all with twin loop handles (4)
