Shang Dynasty and Warring States Period
The first an axe blade, yue, the end of the rectangular tang cast on each side in thread relief with a taotie mask reserve, the shoulder with a curved flange between two narrow slits and the blade with curved edge flat-cast on each side with a panel enclosing two taotie masks flanking a large hole below a narrow scroll band; the other a sword with cylindrical handle encircled by two rings set between the dished circular pommel and wedge-shaped tang from which the tapering blade extends
