TWO ROMAN BONE HEN MARKERS
2ND-3RD CENTURY A.D.
Perhaps theatre tickets, with incised details and notched comb, one inscribed on the obverse with IE and the reverse XV, the other with IB and XII; a similar pair of shrimp markers, one inscribed IE and XV, the other with B and II; another pair of dolphin markers, one with A and I, the other with * and VIII, one with tail now missing, all 2nd-3rd Century A.D., 1½ in. (4 cm.) long max.; and a Roman bone ticket in the form of a fish, inscribed on one side VI, 1st-2nd Century A.D., 1¾ in. (4.5 cm.) long (7)
