8o. Original two-toned cloth (some light dampstaining, some minor wear at spine ends); pictorial dust jacket (some minor darkening, a few chips and small tears at head of spine); quarter morocco folding case. Provenance: Frank Sutherland (presentation inscription, letter laid-in).
FIRST EDITION, PRESENTATION COPY, INSCRIBED BY URIS on the half-title: "For Frank Sutherland Shalom Leon Uris." Uris' novel about founding the state of Israel became the basis for a 1960 epic film starring Paul Newman, Eva Marie Saint, Sal Mineo, and Peter Lawford. Laid-in is a letter from Uris' secretary explaining that it may be some time before Uris is available to sign the book.
