A Self-Portrait of the Artist and his Wife; he, full face in blue coat with gold buttons, cream waistcaot and frilled cravat, cream trousers, his left hand resting on an open book on a covered table, ink pot and quills, standing beside his wife, in pale blue silk dress with fichu, pendant brooch at corsage and in her twisted turban headgear, multi-coloured bordered white cashmere shawl around her shoulders, seated on a leather covered sofa; pillar and draped red curtain and foliate background (cracked)
