ISRAEL'S POLITICAL AND MILITARY LEADERSHIP AT THE TIME OF THE 1967 WAR. President Shazar stands at center, in civilian clothes, while around him stand the victorious generals who achieved the great victory over Jordan, Egypt and the allied Arab powers. Rabin (then chief of staff) stands to the immediate left of President Shazar while Sharon stands three places to Rabin's left. Other notables pictured here include Ezer Weizmann, head of the Israeli Air Force, Haim Herzog, the first military governor of the Occupied West Bank and the sixth President of Israel, Moshe Goren, chief of staff for the Northern Command.
