WITCH PROP FROM "SNOW WHITE AND THE THREE STOOGES"
20th Century Fox, 1961
A miniature model of the witch character attired in black garb and sitting on a small broom. Made of composite, cloth and other materials, this piece is seen in two key sequences: first when the witch, as portrayed by Patricia Medina in the dual role of Queen/Witch, flies from the kingdom to meet Snow White and then again when she falls out of the sky to her death after Curly wishes her to Hades. A small device that created the smoke effect in this scene is still evident in the broom which is made of metal so it wouldn't catch fire. The witch is now housed in an acrylic and wood display case with a metal placard describing it.
