A Meissen figure of Scaramouche from the Commedia dell'Arte series made for the Duke of Weissenfels
Circa 1744, faint blue crossed swords mark
Modelled by J.J. Kndler and P. Reinicke, wearing a black cap, white ruff and gilt-edged jacket, turquoise breeches and yellow shoes, standing in a dramatic pose before a tree-stump on a shaped circular mound base applied with a flower and foliage (right arm restuck, minute chip to underside of middle two right fingers, restoration to left fingers and a leaf on base)
