A Meissen white figure of a peep show man from the 'Cris de Paris' series
Circa 1755, faint blue crossed swords mark to back of base, Pressnummer 27
Modelled by P. Reinicke after the drawing by Christophe Het, wearing a long coat, ragged breeches and clogs, walking with a lantern-box strapped to his back and calling for custom, before a tree-stump support on a shaped circular scroll-moulded base applied with flowers and foliage (chipping to hat, his nose, tip of lantern, his right cuff and to back of coat, small area of restoration to corner of box at his front)
