Wishing him success with his "interesting project" and explaining: "though an admirer of 'Omar', [I] am not much a student of him or of the literature about him as to be able to supply you with, or to suggest to you, anything of value".
Autograph letter signed ("Thomas Dunn English") to Mrs L.G. Dickinson from Newark. N.J., 1 p., 4, 26 October 1886. Sending her requested autographs but explaining that he only has photographs available in Newark that "were taken three years since, and require additional wrinkles, and some sprinkling of grey in 'the hair' to make a proper resemblance now". Offering to send her some from Philadelphia.
