Lot Essay

The style of this miniature is unusual for the artist 'Ali Quli Jubadar; it is possibly an early work of the artist before his mature style was formed, but more probably a version of a Reza drawing of a European man in a cloak holding a wine flask with a small dog at his feet, by another artist.
