Bouman had written to Salinger asking for copies of some 20 stories that were only printed in various magazines. Salinger responds that indeed there are numerous magazine stories of his, dating from about 1945-1950, that have not been collected in a book. He thinks that the larger libraries would have copies of these periodicals and closes by stating that he would not "recommend these old stories to anyone." With Bouman's letter to Salinger and a newsclipping concerning him.
