A Charles II ascribed West Country trefid spoon,
with a rudimentary 'V' rat-tail, the unusual terminal of rounded form with a rounded, tongue-like projection, later initialled and engraved or scratched around the border of the stem with "guide lines" pricked on the border of the terminal "W.S. A.S. 1678", by John (II) Smith, Taunton 1675, maker's mark thrice on the back of the stem, T and tun mark in bowl - 20.75cm long, 1.75oz.
