The factory archives first mention a vase of the present form as exiting the biscuit kiln on 19 December 1754. In 1755, three camaeu decorated examples were sold to the dealers Bazin, Machard and Bailly at a cost of 144 livres each. The present example may be one of these. For an example similarly decorated in camaeu bleu, see Tamara Praud and Antoine d'Albis, La porcelaine de Vincennes, Paris, 1991, p. 98, no. 32.
