[PRESIDENTS]. An archive comprising sixteen letters and documents from various Presidents, politicians and personalities, all regarding Chicago newspaperman John M. Redding (d.1965), v.p., v.d. [1950-1965]. Together 16 pages, various sizes, most on White House or personal stationery.
Redding was spokesman at the Potsdam Conference and supervised press coverage of the D-Day invasion; he later joined Truman's staff and directed publicity for Truman's 1948 reelection campaign. The group includes: Harry S. Truman (DS, certifying that Redding "has all rights and privileges of the hunting season granted, to exterminate the following Animals: George Dixon Drew Pearson Doris Fleeson Gould Lincoln John O'Donnell..."), John F. Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson, Vice-Presidents Alben Barkley and Hubert Humphrey, Adlai Stevenson, Walter Cronkite and others. [With:] Photograph signed by John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B.
