With later liver and grey molded marble top above two long serpentine crossbanded drawers veneered a quatre faces and mounted with foliate-cast lockplates, pulls and apron mount, the sides similarly veneered, on cabriole legs mounted with foliate chutes and pierced sabots--33½in. (85cm.) high, 45in. (114.3cm.) wide, 23½in. (56.7cm.) deep


A similarly proportioned commode stamped J.Schmitz with related ormolu mounts and foliate-cast pulls was sold, Christie's, London, 19 May 1931, lot 114.
