Onogawa Kisaburo held the rank of yokozuna (grand champion) between 1789 and 1797 and Tanikaze Kajinosuke held the rank of yokozuna between 1789 and 1794. Onogawa retired from sumo at the age of 39. Tanikaze died of influenza in Kansei 7 (1795), aged 44.
