An Envoy's Civil Uniform of The Netherlands
A fine and very complete group of mid-20th Century uniform, as follows: a blue Full Dress coatee with extensive gold foliate embroidery to collar, cuffs, fronts, pocket-flaps and skirts (the collar and pocket-flaps bearing the original embroidery of a Counsellor, the other parts embroidered on promotion to Envoy), gilt buttons bearing the crowned J cypher of Queen Juliana; a pair of white duck trousers with 1½in. gold lace stripes on blue cloth backing; another pair of trousers, in dark blue cloth, with 1 3/8 in. stripes of gold "Austrian" pattern lace; a good black silk bicorne hat with white ostrich-feather border, orange silk rosette and triple gold bullion loop, in its shaped tin; a fine smallsword with blade of hollow triangular cross-section by CARL EICKHORN, SOLINGEN, etched with Trophies and foliate decoration, cast gilt guard, pommel, quillon and shell, the latter bearing the Dutch Royal Arms, mother-of-pearl scales to grip, in white-painted scabbard with gilt locket and chape; two sword-frogs (one white, one blue cloth); two pairs of white leather gloves; an orange waist-sash with pendant tassels; a white linen tropical uniform with gilt buttons and detachable blue cloth collar, cuffs and cuff-slashes, all bearing gold embroidery as on the Full Dress coat, matching trousers with gold lace stripes, and a white cap with black mohair band, narrow gold cord chinstrap, blue cloth peak embroidered with gold oakleaves, and an embroidered badge; a card bearing 21 extremely handsome gilt buttons mounted with the crowned W cypher of Queen Wilhelmina; and sundry minor items (lot)
