The serpentine frieze of this side table relates to a tea-table with square tapering fluted legs, sold anonymously, in these Rooms, 30 November 2000, lot 37. A further related pair of tables with similar laurel-wrapped legs and inlaid fan motif to the rear edge of the top was sold by the late Lord Samuel of Wych Cross, Sotheby's London, 17 November 1989, lot 86 (£41,800).
