Nine parts in one volume, 2o (445 x 315 mm). 87 hand-colored lithographic plates by M. & N. Hanhart after F.C. Lehmann, J. Barbosa Rodriquez and Woolward (one double-page), double-page map and 61 wood-engraved text illustrations, errata leaf, directions to the binder slip. Nineteenth-century brown half morocco gilt, marbled boards, top edge gilt, others uncut, spine gilt-stamped "M.H.S." at foot. Provenance: Massachusetts Horticultural Society, Stickney Fund (bookplate dated 1892-6; binding; stamps).
