This design has sometimes been called 'The Arrest of Christ', but as Hervouët and Bruneau comment in La Porcelaine des Compagnies des Indes à Décor Occidental, Paris, 1986, p. 264, this scene is unlikely to depict Christ, since the figure is holding a horn or trumpet; see ibid. fig. 11.16 for a saucer from this rare service.
