A CARTHAGINIAN GLASS HEAD PENDANT
Circa 5th-4th Century B.C.
Rod-formed of dark blue glass, with an opaque yellow face and nose, the dark blue beard spade-shaped, the eyes blue on white on blue beneath dark blue brows, the yellow ears with opaque white earrings, the opaque white mouth open, the forehead centered with a white blob, the hair a fringe of dark blue snail curls, surmounted by a dark blue ridged suspension loop
1 in. (2.5 cm.) high
Acquired by the current owner's family in the 1980s.
