Like furniture manufacturers J. & J. Kohn, silvermakers Alexander Sturm & Co. recognized Hoffmann's talent while he was still teaching at the Kunstegewerbeschule. In 1902, Sturm began producing and marketing a range of extraordinary designs by Hoffmann, including cups, trophies, vases and, more conventionally, cutlery.
