According to Dr. James L. Yarnall, the present watercolor is a long-lost work known until this time only from the 1879 exhibition of the American Watercolor Society.
This work will be included in the forthcoming publication of the late Henry La Farge's catalogue raisonné of the works of John La Farge, completed by J. Yarnall.
