    Lot Essay

Cf. G.A. Godden, The Illustrated Guide to Lowestoft Porcelain (London, 1969), pl. 207, for a similar example with the inscription 'A Trifle from Lowestoft', perhaps painted by the same hand. There is an octagonal inkpot dated 1798 in the British Museum.

See also Sheenah Smith, Lowestoft Porcelain in the Norwich Castle Museum (Great Yarmouth, 1975), Vol. 1, pp. 143 & 135.
