A Burmese, Mandalay style, black laquered wood figure of Buddha Sakyamuni
18th/19th century
Carved in samabhanga on a lotus base, both hands stretched along his body, one holding section of his elaborate pleated garment, partly set with mica, his face with meditative expression, elongated earlobes, tiara in front of his curled hairdress and usnisha, and set with mica, traces of gilding
