The backs with open scroll and military armorial decorated splats and caned seats with silk squabs, on sabre legs, the other armchair has a blank label on the underside of the front seat rail and another label on the left seat rail is inscribed as 'parlour', with restorations and later decoration (2)

The chairs, with Grecian-scrolled frames in the Regency manner, display veil-draped poetic trophies, whose combination of, Apollos lyre and arrows derives from a chair pattern in T. Sheratons The Cabinet-Maker and Upholsterer's Drawing Book, 1793, Appendix pl. X.
