Lot Essay

Rameshwar Broota imbues his depictions of prehistoric tools with inklings of the human form, creating textures on the surface of his objects which ripple and crease like human flesh. This seamlessness between man and material is possibly an allusion to man's unique ability to render and utilize tools. It takes on an additional significance through Broota's labor intensive technique of a knife blade to create subtle shading.
