Lot Essay

Between 1904 and 1906 Toorop executed several large colour crayon drawings of farmers working in the field with Domburg in the distance. We know three versions of the Boonensnijder which differ only slightly. A smaller version of the Boonensnijder, was sold in these rooms on 12 december 1990 as lot 275 for Dfl. 46.000,-.

To be included in the catalogue raisonné on the artist's work, currently being prepared by G.W.C. van Wezel.
