303 x 1778 mm. Hebrew Megillah manuscript written in fine calligraphy on vellum, 3 membranes, 12 columns, 28 lines. THE EDGES OF THE SCROLL CUT IN FLORAL FILIGREE AND PAINTED red green and yellow, wooden roll. (Some damage to filigree along fore edge and at beginning, some mostly pale dampstaining.) Provenance: Philip C. Duschnes, 19 August 1958.
FILIGREE CUT-OUT BORDERS ARE VERY RARE.

The text is written in an Italian square hand of the late 17th-early 18th century. Esther scrolls with delicate cut-out decoration and in good condition are rarely seen on the market. It apparently lacks the first panel at the beginning of the scroll.
