Lot Essay

Trained at the Kunstgewerbeschule, Kipp established a weaving workshop in Munich, specialising in in dress fabrics. Following her emigration to Los Angeles in 1924, Kipp began to specialise in innovative interior and furnishings fabrics, often featuring modernistic motifs, that were handwoven for the decorators and architects, including Frank Lloyd Wright and Rudolph Schindler.
