Painted with a large central bouquet surrounded by scattered bouquets and flower-sprays, the alt Brandenstein ozier-moulded border with four sprays, the ends with pierced rocaille-moulded handles enriched in puce (surface lacquered disguising repairs, slight flaking to enamels with slight retouching)

Lot Essay

This stand bears similarities in form and decoration to the service produced by Volkstedt for the Prince of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt in 1766, illustrated in Volkstedter Porzellan, 1760-1800, Thüringer Landesmuseum Heidecksburg, Rudolstadt, Exhibition Catalogue (1999), pp. 200-206.
