The king -- 3 7/8 in. (9.7 cm.) high; the pawn -- 1 7/8 in. (4.7 cm.) high
Together with a sycamore and fruitwood canvas lined folding games board -- 13½ x 13½ in. (34.5 x 34.5 cm.)

These are similar to the English patterns but the knights' heads loosely resemble those of seahorses, a trait of German 19th Century sets. Patterns were printed by the firm A.Kolb, Nuremberg from 1840-50. See Michael Mark, British Chess Sets, 1986.
