A VERY RARE OPAQUE IVORY-COLORED JADE BIRD-HEADED ORNAMENT
NEOLITHIC PERIOD, LIANGZHU CULTURE, 3RD-2ND MILLENNIUM BC
The ornament is carved with a bird’s head with prominent crown-like crest above a simply rendered body with subtle notches at the base of the back to suggest wings opposite the chest with tubular opening that connects to the tubular opening in the base.
