THE EARLIEST DIGLOT VERSION, containing Tyndale's English New Testament with the Latin of Erasmus. 4to in eights, 209 x 154 mm., modern blindstamped brown "divinity" style morocco, spine gilt-lettered, corners slightly worn, 269 leaves only (of 308, lacks 39 leaves: [unsigned]4, A1-6, 08, Z6, CC1, MM7-8, NN1-8, 001-4, PP1-8, QQ1-4), leaves I6, Q2-3, T8, Z5, AA3, KK2-3 and LL8 defective, H6 torn across; old stains. Black letter in two sizes, double column, 6 (of eight, lacks Matthew) evangelist portrait woodcuts, ornamental woodcut initials. STC 2815, Herbert 36. Sold not subject to return.
