THE FOLLOWING EIGHT LOTS ARE OFFERED BY THE FAMILY OF THE LATE TOMMY COOPER. Tommy Cooper is one of Britain's best loved comedians. His on stage character expressed a seemingly naive charm and quick wit which brought a new style of comedy. As a fledgling magician he discovered this unique way of entertaining his audience by accident, he said; I had awful stage-fright. It's terrible. You can't talk and every trick went wrong. They were all laughing like mad and I was nearly in tears. Afterwards, though, I thought it wasn't such a bad idea and I started to do it on purpose.

According to Tommy Cooper's daughter this pastel drawing was hung in Cooper's living room at their home in Chiswick. He was particularly fond of the resemblance and believed that the artist had ...caught him.
