In 1966 Charlie Kaman launched the Ovation Guitar Company. Build using techniques that had been employed in the aeronautical industry the first model was the now famous Balladeer. The Ovation's ability to stand up to the rigors of stage performance and road travel quickly made them the guitar of choice for many road performers.
