Artists including Christopher Le Brun, Nigel Hall and Ken Howard, were invited to Venice in April 2006 as guests of St George's Anglican Church. The trip provided a special opportunity to see how contemporary artists respond to a subject that has fascinated artists for centuries. Proceeds from the resulting works, exhibited in 2007, went to the restoration of the church.
