Gouache heightened with gold on paper, depicting the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb, holding court from a jaroka window set under a canopy decorated with a golden sun flanked by two mythical birds, around him are elegantly dressed courtiers including one with distinctive pock-marked face, set within gold rules on wide margins
Painting 13¼ x 9 3/8in. (33.5 x 24cm.); folio 16 3/8 x 13¾in. (41.5 x 31cm.)
