We are grateful to Fred Meijer of the RKD, The Hague, for confirming the attribution upon inspection of the original (verbal communication, 26 September 2013). In all likelihood Koets executed the present work late in his career. The influence of his well-known contemporary and fellow citizen Pieter Claesz. is evident.
