Ina Stewart was a great friend of the De Karlowska's daughter (Mrs Charles Baty). The work would have been painted at 14 Adamson Road NW3, and in the background can be seen the corner of Charles Ginner's Cave of the Golden Calf.

We are grateful to Patrick Baty for his assistance in cataloguing lots 47 and 50.
