    Up Close

    21 September 2026 - 2 October 2026, New York
  • Auction overview

Up Close brings together a curated selection of post-war and contemporary art, centered on works that reward close looking and a heightened sense of objecthood. With a particular focus on works of concentrated scale, the sale presents exceptional examples by some of the most influential and sought-after artists of the 20th and 21st centuries alongside compelling new discoveries, with highlights by Josef Albers, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Louise Bourgeois, Kerry James Marshall, Pat Steir, Andy Warhol and Lucy Bull among others.

Across painting, works on paper and sculpture, the auction foregrounds materiality, surface and presence, drawing attention to the qualities that make each work singular. The sale will also present works from distinguished private collections, including Property from the Collection of Suzanne Solov and Gerald W. Labiner, Property from the Collection of Jon Gould, and Artful Ownership: Works from the Collection of Aaron M. Milrad.

With estimates ranging from US$500 to US$300,000, Up Close offers collectors the opportunity to encounter both established names and unexpected discoveries through works of distinctive character, celebrating the power and individuality of the object.
