A Gilt Bronze Figure of Manjushri
Tibet, 15th/16th century
Seated in dhyanasana over a double-lotus base with beaded rims, his hands in dharmachakramudra, clad in a flowing dhoti incised with cloud and lotus motifs and secured with a pendant beaded belt, adorned with various jewelry inset with hardstones, the face with heavy-lidded eyes centered by a raised urna, the hair pulled into a high chignon topped with a finial and secured by a tiara, flanked by lotus blossoms holding a sword and the scripture
