Only a few 19th century examples of both clock and barometer of this model are known, with the only other known examples being a pair by Dasson and a pair by Grohé Frères. The clock is a copy of the celebrated model made circa 1785 and attributed to Jean-Henri Riesener, now in the Louvre (cat. C.Dr., No 185). The companion barometer, also in the Louvre, is an 1860s version made by the 19th century cabinetmaker Grohé which was made for the Empress Eugénie who had the original clock in her cabinet de travail at the Tuileries. Both are illustrated in Pierre Verlet, Les Bronzes Dorés Français du XVIIIe Siècle, Picard, 1999, pp. 116 and 384.
