24 November – 19 December | NEW YORK
Featuring the work of Contemporary Realist painter Jacob Collins, this exhibition will include a diverse selection of 30 works, comprised of landscapes, still lifes and figural compositions. Drawing inspiration from classical masters, Collins emphasizes close attention to detail, skillful craftsmanship, and dramatic use of light to produce timeless compositions with a modern sensibility. Collins has received international recognition through numerous solo exhibitions and his work is represented in several public and private collections including Harvard's Fogg Art Museum and Amherst's Mead Art Museum.
“…he never laid down the brush for a moment, and it was so very obvious with each stroke that something far more eloquent than paint and color and form were evolving. Perhaps foremost is the artist’s emotional involvement with his subjects. Jacob’s ardor, his sensitivity, his total absorption in and commitment to each work defines his humanism, a characteristic that in turn distinguishes a truly exceptional painter.”
