Featured during 20th Century Week at Christie’s New York, An American Place: The Barney A. Ebsworth Collection offers over 90 artworks to be sold during a dedicated evening and day sale. A self-made man with a passion for art, Barney A. Ebsworth assembled a collection that represents the rise of American art across the 20th century. Highlights of the Evening Sale include Edward Hopper’s Chop Suey, Jackson Pollock’s Composition with Red Strokes, Willem de Kooning’s Woman as Landscape and other standout pieces from Franz Kline and Charles Sheeler to Georgia O’Keeffe and William Glackens.
A selection of works will be touring to Los Angeles and San Francisco before returning to our flagship saleroom at New York’s Rockefeller Plaza galleries. Our New York viewing opens on 4 November. Take virtual tour >
