This picture, which has never been offered at auction, dates from 1885-86 and provides a foretaste of Sickert's later themes. The Bloomsbury artists appear in the sale with a selection of pictures by Duncan Grant and Vanessa Bell. The landscape tradition is reflected in two fine compositions by Sir Alfred Munnings and a stunning river view by S.J. Lamorna Birch.
