This sale encapsulates the glory of Dutch culture and craftsmanship, and reflects Dutch taste over many centuries.
Ranging in date from circa 1600 to circa 1800, among the offerings are examples in the auricular, baroque, rococo and neo-Classical styles by many of the greatest silversmiths of the Netherlands such as the van Vianen family.
Further highlights include a collection of Delft porcelain and Dutch engraved glass from the 18th century as well as twenty Dutch topographical paintings with views of Amsterdam, The Hague, Utrecht and Haarlem.
The books section offers an important example of Euclid's Elementa Geometrica, Venice, 1492, and a fine atlas by Blaeu.
