Alexandre Bigler joined the auction business in 2005 and brings two decades of global experience to his role as Head of Watches, Asia Pacific at Christie’s. He has been instrumental in cementing Christie’s leadership in the region, guiding the department to landmark achievements and setting new benchmarks with a pioneering vision and curatorial finesse.
Since 2020, Alexandre has led Christie’s to become Asia’s market leader in Watches for six consecutive years.
During this period, he has overseen the unparalleled presentation of 13 important private collections in Asia and achieved 77 auction records across live watch sales in Hong Kong.
Notably, he orchestrated the historic sale of the Patek Philippe reference 2523R with blue enamel dial, retailed by Gobbi Milano. Offered for the first time within a 20th/21st Century Evening Sale, it realised USD 9 million in November 2019 and remains the most expensive wristwatch ever auctioned in Asia.
With Alexandre at the helm, Christie’s Watches has reached new milestones, including the highest first half total ever recorded in Asia at USD 56.9 million in 2023, followed by the highest annual total in the region’s history at USD 87 million in 2023, and the highest autumn season total ever achieved, realising USD 45 million in November 2025.
